Investigations into the unexplained deaths of two people in their 80s in Cumbria remain ongoing.

Cumbria police said further lines of enquiry have been carried out since the two were found, which continue to point to no third-party involvement.

Officers were initially called out at 3pm on Thursday, October 23, by a member of the public reporting the discovery of two people, aged in their 80s, dead at an address in Grune Point Close, Skinburness, near Silloth.

At the time, detective chief inspector Paddy McDonnell said: “Cumbria police commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths since Thursday afternoon carrying out significant enquiries since that time.

“We are working closely with the coroner for Cumbria seeking to understand what has occurred.

“While the investigation so far does not support third-party or criminal involvement, officers are keeping an open mind and are continuing to work to establish the circumstances leading to their deaths.”

Whilst detectives continue their enquiries, they encourage anyone who has any information which may assist to come forward.
