A peace vigil will be held in Penrith this weekend.
The event, hosted by Penrith Quakers and Churches Together, will take place on Sunday, Sunday November 16.
Those of all faiths and none are invited to gather in the garden of Penrith Quaker Meeting House in Meeting House Lane for a period of candlelit reflection followed by free refreshments.
Julia Aglionby, of Penrith Quakers, said: “At this time of remembrance this is an opportunity to gather together and remember all those affected by conflict across the world.
“This will be an opportunity to hold everyone in our thoughts and to re double our efforts to collectively build a more peaceful world.”
The vigil will take place at 4.30pm. Refreshments will be provided in the meeting house afterwards and if the weather is wet, the vigil will be held indoors.
All are welcome. People are urged to wear warm clothes. Candles will be provided but people can bring their own.
