Police are investigating after a woman approached a pupil on a West Cumbria town’s street.
Allerdale police said the incident, on Washington Street in Workington, was being treated as suspicious.
The incident was reported at 9.25am today, Friday November 14.
Allerdale police said: “A woman is reported to have approached a school age child and spoken with her; the child left the area on the bus. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A Workington school sent a message out to parents and carers, saying while it did not wish to raise alarm, it wanted to use the opportunity to ask people to speak with their children about staying vigilant.
