
Five Cup-ties were played in the West Cumberland Sunday League at the weekend.
Three were in the Kenny Hales Memorial Trophy and the other two in the Albert Murphy Trophy, with a sixth game between Dearham and the Sun Inn postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Best game was the Kenny Hales clash between Lowca Pirates and the King’s Arms which finished all square at 2-2.
It went to penalties and the Egremont visitors came out on top 4-3.
In the game, Lennox Hunter scored both for the King’s Arms while Kian Goulding and Travis Fyfe netted for Lowca.
Moresby Rangers have been banging in a lot of goals recently and they were among them again beating Mirehouse 8-2, also in the Kenny Hales competition.
James Bell (2), Rhys Singleton (2), Sam Stones (2), Alfie Schofield and Jamie Martin did the damage for the Rangers. Lachlan Leeson scored both for Mirehouse.
In the third game of the Kenny Hales Memorial Trophy competition The Sun beat Royal Oak comprehensively 9-1.
Hayden Whittingham (3), Dan Hill (2), Joe Dobinson (2), Ryan Gray and Luke Knowles scored for The Sun with Brendon Tolson replying.
In the Albert Murphy Trophy Deer Orchard hit double figures, beating Maryport Amateurs 11-2 with goals from Luke Graham (3), Sam Wright (2), Jayden Fulton (2), Troy Paterson (2), Louis Pickering and Oscar Pickering.
Carl Denvir and Lewis Moore were the marksmen for Maryport.
The other Albert Murphy tie was much closer as Zebras won 3-2 at Senhouse Street thanks to goals from Malachi Norford, Dan Little and Ben Carini. Charlie Shaw netted both for Senhouse.
