Spencer Fulton, one of Workington Town’s promising young guns has re-signed for the 2026 season.
Fulton looked a useful addition to the squad lkast season which was his first in the pro game, after being recommended by former Town forward Liam McAvoy.
He had impressed McAvoy playing for him at Cockermouth Titans.
Town coach head coach Jonty Gorley said: “This time last year Spencer came to us for pre-season as a favour for a friend, to give him some experience.
“I think everyone was extremely happy with how Spencer went last year, for his first season he did pretty well. He suffered a few knocks which hindered his game time.
“We’re excited to see what Spencer can do this year, especially after sorting his nutrition and gym work out with S&C Mathew Johnson in the off season.
“He’s come back 5kg to 6kg heavier, which he needed to be, without losing any speed.
“I’m really looking forward to see what Spencer can achieve this season.”
To celebrate, Fulton’s friend, Manchester City and England goalkeeper James Trafford was at Workington’s Fibrus Community Stadium to try his hand at rugby league, while Fulton tried goalkeeping.
