Harborough Town, who host Carlisle United in the FA Trophy, continued their fine start to the season last night.
The Bees won 1-0 at seventh placed Quorn to maintain their position at the top of the Southern League Premier Central table, and still unbeaten.
A 59th minute goal from Conor Kennedy gave them their tenth win of the campaign – and they have drawn the other five.
They lead the table only by a point from Spalding United, who have played two games more and have been beaten three times.
Manager Mitch Austin – who is excited about the opportunity to take on Mark Hughes’ Carlisle United in the third round of the FA Trophy – was full of praise for his side’s latest win.
“We really had to work hard for this win and we are in a position where we have to leave some good lads out but we still get the job done,” he said.
No strangers to testing themselves against higher-level opposition, this fixture will see the Bees take on the highest-ranked side they will have faced so far in the 2025/26 season.
Harborough have already proven their ability to compete with teams from above, having taken National League side Altrincham to a replay in October in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round, while also beating Peterborough Sports and Worksop Town during the same cup run.
They then carried that momentum into the FA Trophy, defeating Enfield Town in the previous round.
The fixture is provisionally scheduled to be played on Saturday December 13, with a 3pm kick-off.
Ticket information will be announced in due course.
