A man has been charged after testing almost three times the legal drink drive limit.
South Lakes Police said in the early hours of Saturday morning a Kendal officer suspected a 30-year-old male was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Following the drivers arrest, police said the man provided an evidential reading of 96mg in 100ml of breath – almost three times the legal limit.
A spokesman said: “With the festive season rapidly approaching we make no apologies for constantly reminding everyone of the dangers of drink/drunk driving.
“Please remember to plan ahead when you go out and have made arrangements to get home safely. Drink and drug driving ruins lives and it is completely avoidable.”
