Outstanding season for Kevin Evans

Kevin Evans capped another outstanding season by being the top points and trophy winner in the Workington Victoria club.

Members received their rewards for a hard season in the Union Jack Club when Kevin, who still flies as Evans and Abraham, picked up 61 points and eight trophies.

He was also the leading fancier in the Derwent Valley Federation and Cumbria Combine, as he and loft manager Bob Taylor enjoyed a fine season.

Also among the club awards were:

  • McLuckie Bros – 53 points, 3 trophies
  • Willams and Hadfield – 39 points, 2 trophies
  • Martindale and Lawman – 33 points, Michael Cape Memorial trophy
  • Mr and Mrs Walters and son – 28 points, 3 trophies
  • L and M Cape -11 points, Senhouse St Club trophy
  • Varty, Son, Grandson – 8 points, Fred Peart trophy
  • Wilson, Son and Johnston – 5 points; Dolan and daughter – 1 point, Young Fancier Shield.

Federation Trophies

  • Evans and Abraham – Highest prize winners in DVF winning Eric Hodgson Memorial Trophy
  • McLuckie Bros, Presidents cup and Mr and Mrs Walters and son, Longest Young Bird trophy
