
People are reminded that if their homes are flooded that they need to contact their local council.
Cumberland Council urged residents affected by internal property flooding to report it as soon as possible so that support can be provided and resources directed where they are most needed.
It said: “The council understands how distressing and disruptive flooding can be for the community.
“During the recent flood events, Cumberland’s lead local flood authority team has already been made aware of 63 properties that have experienced internal flooding, and the data gathering is underway.”
Councils are not an emergency service and anyone in immediate danger should call 999.
