Audiences are invited to take a musical journey with Westmorland Orchestra and beat the January blues.

Around the World in 80 Minutes will be performed on Sunday January 11 at the leisure centre in Kendal.

From the vibrant rhythms of Marquez’s La Conga del Fuego Nuevo to the soaring magic of John Williams’ Adventure on Earth, the concert promises to burst with colour, energy, and unforgettable melodies.

Travel through Spain, India, Japan, China, Africa and beyond with iconic music from Bizet’s Carmen, as well as from films such as Slumdog Millionaire, The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen, and more — all performed live by a full orchestra.

The journey ends with the triumphant splendour of Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No 1.

The concert starts at 3pm and tickets are available at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/kendal/kendal-leisure-centre/family-concert-round-the-world-westmorland-orchestra/2026-01-11/15:00/t-zzeegjr
