Cumbria Combine Awards presented for 2025

Evans & Abraham Highest points in Combine

The Cumbria Combine presented their awards for the 2025 season in the Union Jack Club in Workington.

The highest prize winner was Kevin Evans of the Workington Victoria club, flying as Evans and Abraham with 172 points.

Another Workington loft of McLuckie brothers was runner-up in most points and Gold Award winner on 132 points.

Berwick and Watson of Aspatria, who race in the Flimby club, won the Bobby Glanfield Cup for first at Messac.

Another loft in the Flimby club, that of Ostle and McNichol  won the Cumbria Combine Channel average trophy.

Other awards went to:

  • 1st Category A, Inland OB – Union Jack Trophy – McLuckie brothers. Runner-up – Evans and Abraham.
  • 1st Category B, Channel award – Tom Pooley Cup – Ostle and McNichol. Runner-up – D Harrison and son.
  • 1st Category D – Young Bird Award – Long and Small Trophy – Mr and Mrs Walters and Son. Runner-up –  P Dodd

VE Day Race winners   

  • West Cumberland Fed – D Harrison and son, Egremont.
  • Derwent Valley Fed –  Mr and Mrs D Wood, Harrington.
  • Furness Fed – A and K Young, Millom.
  • East Cumberland Fed – Ian Dixon, Penrith.
  • Young Fancier of the Year  – Karl Greer – Carlisle.
  • Tattersall/ Blacklock Friendship trophy for service to the sport – Adam Young
  • Brian Tattersall NFC Trophy –  Varty, son and grandson.
