A landslip saw trains cancelled on the Cumbrian Coast Line between Millom and Corkickle.
The landslip happened between Drigg and Seascale yesterday, Wednesday December 17, and as a result, operator Northern said trains only ran as far as Millom.
Northern advised customers not to attempt to travel between Millom and Corkickle this morning.
Adverse weather conditions in the area meant that no road transport will be provided.
National Rail said trains were due to be cancelled until at least 10am.
