An appeal has been issued for a missing man with links to Cumbria.

James Brown, 52, of Preston, was last seen on The Causeway in Southport at 10.15am on Sunday.

James has links to Keswick, Kendal, Penrith and Carlisle.

It is believed he is travelling in a Land Rover.

James is 5ft 10in, bald with short grey hair around the side and a grey beard.

He occasionally wears glasses for reading.

James has tattoos, including a large Mandela on his chest, a snake on his right shoulder, Arabic writing on his wrist, an eye with HJM around it on his arm, a black and yellow symbol on his arm, and an upside-down pentagon on his back.

Preston Police said they could not be 100 per cent certain what he was last seen wearing, however James normally wears a dark green T-shirt or a camo jumper.

Officers added that James had lost a significant amount of weight since the photograph was taken.

Preston Police added: “We know a couple of days have passed since James was reported missing and we want to reassure you that we have been carrying out a number of enquiries to find him.

“And we are now at the point where we are asking your help, and we are particularly keen for people to keep an eye out for the Land Rover.

If anyone sees James or the distinctive Land Rover, call Preston Police on 101 and quote log 1255 of 21st December 2025. For immediate sightings call 999.
