The Metalcraft Cockermouth Community Fund is making a festive call for applications as it prepares to meet for the final time this year.
The fund was set up by Stainless Metalcraft, which supplies specialist equipment for decommissioning programmes at Sellafield, in February 2020.
It makes donations worth up to £2,000 a year to local community groups and supported five local organisations this year – Cockermouth Town Council, Kirkgate Arts & Heritage, Derwent Athletic Club, Mary Platt Pre-School, and Cockermouth Linking Lives.
Chris Duggan, managing director at Stainless Metalcraft, said: “Community is at the heart of our operations and, through the Metalcraft Cockermouth Community Fund, we are delighted to be able to support worthy causes across the local area.
“During 2025, we helped fund Christmas lunches; kitchen, educational and athletic equipment and would welcome new applications from community groups and not-for-profit organisations as we head into 2026.”
The minimum funding request is £50, with a maximum available each quarter of £500.
Applications close on December 31, with successful applicants being advised in January 2026.
