
Kendal continued their push for the play-offs with a hard-earned 2-1 win at Penrith in the Northern League’s Division One.
Zach Walker scored the winner in the 90th minute and Jamie Looker had earlier given them the lead after 11 minutes.
Kendal, backed by a strong travelling contingent estimated at 200 fans, had been the better side in the first half and deserved their interval lead.
But Penrith came back well and drew level on 62 minutes when Connor Shields scored from the penalty spot.
It looked as though the points were going to be shared until Zach Walker popped up with the winner.
In time added on Jason Walker was sent off and after the final whistle the referee produced red cards for Kendal’s Niall Cowperthwaite and the Penrith manager Jim Nichols.
