Police have released the first picture of a man who died in Silloth.
Officers said they had formally identified the 73-year-old man, Stanley Smith.
Cumbria police were called to Fell Close in the town on Monday, December 22 at around 5.35am.
Mr Smith, of Fell Close, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His son, Brian Smith, 33, has appeared in court today, Monday December 29, charged with murder.
