A full investigation has been launched into the cause of a blaze at a Center Parcs lodge, near Penrith, on Christmas Eve.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 4.59pm on December 24 following reports that there was a fire at a commercial property in Whinfell Forest.
A spokesman said four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform attended from Carlisle East, Penrith and Appleby stations.
Firefighters spent three hours extinguishing the fire.
A spokesman for Center Parcs said: “Our team responded immediately, calling the fire service and evacuating the guests and those in surrounding lodges.
“The fire was brought under control quickly, and there were no injuries. A full investigation is under way to understand the cause.
“However, we believe the fire started outside of the lodge.
“The guests from the affected lodge were relocated to another lodge so that they could continue to enjoy their Christmas break with us.
“Our team and the fire service did a fantastic job of containing the fire and ensuring everyone was safe, we thank them for their prompt actions.”
