Cumberland County League primed for action

There should be a full programme of games in the Cumberland County League, but it will all depend on the weather.

All six games scheduled for last week were called off and tomorrow there are nine games on the fixture list.

The vast majority will be the subject of pitch inspections in the morning.

Aspatria haven’t played much at home this season with several postponements through the state of the Recreation Ground pitch.

They are due to host Cockermouth in their latest Premier Division fixture.

It’s the only top flight game as other Premier Division sides are involved in Benevolent Cup action.

Keswick start a run of five scheduled home games with a visit from Division One’s Silloth, a much improved side this season.

Premier Division leaders Maryport Athletic have a visit to Milltoft from the bottom side Cleator Moor Celtic reserves.

The stand-out tie is the derby clash between Whitehaven Miners Social and neighbours Mirehouse while Workington Juniors v Wigton Harriers completes the Cup-ties.

There’s a full programme of games in Division One, which are: Bransty Rangers v Unison Development; Cockermouth reserves v Whitehaven Miners Development; Dearham United v Windscale reserves; Whitehaven reserves v Carlisle City Development.
