A dispersal order has been issued for Workington town centre.
Police said the order, which is in place until midnight today, Sunday January 18, was issued following reports of anti-social behaviour by youths in the area.
The order gives police officers additional powers to disperse groups and, if necessary, remove individuals from the town centre to help prevent further disruption and keep the area safe for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Police have asked parents and guardians to be aware of their children’s whereabouts and to remind young people to behave responsibly.
Anyone failing to comply with the dispersal order may be dealt with by police, the force added.
Anyone who sees anti-social behaviour or has concerns is asked to report it to the police via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
