Barrow have signed the experienced Grimsby Town forward Danny Rose for an undisclosed fee.
He has had three years at Blundell Park and has penned an 18-month deal with the Bluebirds until the summer of 2027.
Barnsley-born Rose is 32 and has been in the professional game since 2011 when he signed for his hometown club, going on to play 17 times for the Oakwell side.
Following two short spells on-loan with Bury, Rose penned a three-year deal with the Shakers in the summer of 2014.
In his two years at Gigg lane he scored 18 goals in 69 appearances before he joined Mansfield and that proved a productive period for him. He played 165 games for the Stags and scored 44 goals.
He moved for an undisclosed fee to Stevenage and was an ever-present member of the side that won promotion to League One in the 2022/23 season, notching nine goals on his way to a League Two promotion medal.
Danny’s next destination was the Mariners where he would scoop the club’s player of the year award in his first full season at the club, whilst hitting the back of the net on 15 occasions.
Last season saw the forward bag 15 goals again and with five to his name already this season, Rose heads to The SO Legal Stadium as Paul Gallagher’s fourth signing of the January window.
Gallagher said: “He is an experienced goalscorer who has consistently found the back of the net in League Two and am delighted that we’ve secured his services.
“Not only does he breed goals but his ability in the air for someone of his size is second to none and allows us a different option during games.
“He has experienced promotion from this level and is a natural goalscorer in his own right, however he is also a leader and brings that winning mentality that makes teams successful, and I look forward to getting straight to work with him on the training pitch.”
