A man has been jailed after he assaulted a woman then used her bank cards while she was in hospital.
Ben Hurst, 33, of Larch Grove, Ulverston was sentenced to two years and two months for inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, three counts of fraud by false representation, intentional strangulation and assault.
He was sentenced at Preston Crown Court yesterday.
The offences are against a single victim, a woman.
Speaking about the case T/Detective Constable Katherine Taylor, of Westmorland and Furness CID, said: “Hurst subjected his victim to a violent assault grabbing her by the throat and throwing her to the floor before locking her in the house.
“He further assaulted her the next day.
“The victim suffered multiple injuries including a fracture in her neck.
“Whilst in hospital Hurst fraudulently used the victim’s bank cards without her permission.
