Honister Pass has been temporarily closed due to wintry conditions.
Cumberland Council was asked by the police to close the pass as a safety precaution.
The authority said that it was expected to be a short term closure as conditions were forecast to turn milder later today, Friday January 30.
Drivers are asked to avoid the pass.
