Workington Reds won through to the Fred Conway Cup semi-final last night by beating Unisun Athletic 3-0.
But Carlisle United were beaten by Westmorland League side Kirkoswald 2-1.
Reds fielded a mixed side of first-teamers and Under-18s and Under-23s, dominating for much of the game.
The home side got off to a flying start by taking the lead after only three minutes.
A free kick into the box caused the Unisun defence a problem and Harrison Telford, the Under-18s captain was there to turn home.
The second goal came shortly before half-time and was a good finish from centre-forward Josh Palmer.
Reds made changes during the second half with Jack Dickinson, Luke Ellis and Josh Galloway, three of his first teamers replaced.
Workington scored their third when Isaac Whitehall was there to finish after a free kick from Galloway was driven into the area on 64 minutes.
Although they did not concede again the Cumberland County League had Dave Nelson sent off on 71 minutes for an alleged use of the elbow.

The visitors kept going but were unable to pull one back although home keeper Danny Eccles had to make one smart save.
In the other quarter final Kirkoswald scored a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute to beat Carlisle United youth team 2-1.
Ryan Bell thumped the ball home after a goalmouth scramble and take Kirkoswald through to their first Cumberland Cup semi-final.
They had taken the lead in the first-half through Niall Renwick and held it until the 80th minute.
The lively Amaru Smith was brought down in the box and awarded a penalty, which he drilled home expertly.

It could have gone to extra time or penalties but Bell popped up with the late winner.
The game was played at Frenchfield and Penrith are in County Cup action themselves on Saturday when they visit Cleator Moor Celtic.
The final quarter final will be played next Tuesday, February 10, when holders Carlisle City host Windscale.
