10p swims return for youngsters this half-term

Youngsters will be able to take advantage of 10p swims this half term at five pools in north and West Cumbria.

Available for children aged up to 16, the discounted scheme runs from Saturday February 14 and Sunday February 22.

It has been put in place by Cumberland Council, with the support of GLL and Wigton Baths Trust.

The council scheme will offer discounted swimming opportunities throughout the week and some locations will also offer free sessions on a weekend.

It will be available at the following leisure sites at allocated times during the school holidays:

  • Cockermouth Leisure Centre: 1pm to 1.50pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre, Whitehaven: noon to 12.50pm, Saturday February 14 and Saturday February 21. 10am to 10.50am, Sunday February 15 and Sunday February 22. 1pm to 1.50pm, Monday February 16, Tuesday February 17, Thursday February 19 and Friday February 20.
  • The Sands Centre, Carlisle: 10am to 10.50am, Monday to Friday and Sunday February 22.
  • Wigton Baths: Monday February 16, 3pm to 4pm, Tuesday February 17, 11am to noon and 3.15pm to 4.15pm, Wednesday February 18, 11am to noon and 3pm to 4pm, Thursday February 19 11am to noon, Friday February 20, 11am to noon and Saturday February21, 11am to noon.
  • Workington Leisure Centre: 10am to 10.50am, Monday February 16 to Wednesday February 18.
