Experienced skipper Steve Scholey will be back to lead Workington Town in their tasty Challenge Cup third round tie with St Helens tonight.
The long-serving forward was unavailable last week when Town lost their Championship game at Rochdale 20-14 but is back in the 21 chosen by coach Jonty Gorley.
Evan Lawther also makes a return to the squad with Guy Graham and Braden Leigh the two players to miss out.
Town face a virtual full-strength Saints side keen to give new coach Paul Rowley a successful start to his career with the club.
Rowley’s father Alan was a player for Town in the 1970s and a popular travelling member of the squad.
Town coach Jonty Gorley is looking for his side to enjoy the game and the occasion, and hopes they can give a good account of themselves against the Super League giants.
“It’s a special game for a lot of our lads because they have never played a team like St Helens before.
“We know how hard it’s going to be but everyone is looking forward to the challenge.
“We are under no pressure whatsoever and I want the players to enjoy the experience of playing against some of the world’s best and give it their best shot,” said the Town coach.
Ticket sales have been going exceptionally well and there are hopes of passing the magic 5,000 figure.
Town’s 21 are: Ainley, Bradley, Butterworth, Carter, Castle, Corkill, Donaghy, O. Doran, Farrer, Fulton, Galea, Gittens-Bedward, Lawther, Lewthwaite, Lupton, Phillips, Rawhiti, Reid, Scholey, Wear, Williams.
The kick-off at the Fibrus Community Stadium is 7.30pm.
