Workington Reds unveiled a new signing at their game with Ilkeston Town on Saturday.
But it rather went under the radar due to Reds ending a winless run that stretched in the NPL Premier Division back to November.
Harry McLinden has been training with the Reds on several occasions and has now signed for the Cumbrians from Queen of the South.
A forward, who has impressed manager Billy Barr in training, has limited senior experience but has played a handful of games for Forfar Athletic.
Starting his career with Bo’ness United and Linlithgow Rose he was signed by Queens and made a couple of senior appearances before being loaned to Forfar Athletic where he played twice.
McLinden was named on the bench for the Ilkeston game but Barr only used one substitute Alfie McDonough.
Reds are now seven points off safety with a tough assignment coming up on Saturday with a trip to Gainsborough Trinity.
They had been moving powerfully up the table but were surprisingly beaten 1-0 on Saturday at Leek Town.
Barr saw them win at Ashton 3-0 in mid-week and is considering going to watch them again when they play at Bamber Bridge this Tuesday .
“When I saw them at Ashton they were the best team I’d seen at this level so it’s going to be a tough one,” he said.
