This weekend will see two opposing teams come together at Maryport Rugby League Football Club in a charity masters rugby match in memory of two local women who had ties to the clubs.
The game will celebrate the lives of Sue Grimley and Lorraine Degraff and raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
Seaton and Maryport will face off on Saturday, February 14 for the Degraff-Grimley Memorial Trophy.
Organiser Stephen Pickering said: “I think it is very important that these two ladies are remembered and what better way to do it than a game of rugby with all proceeds going to Hospice at Home West Cumbria?”
The game kicks off at 2.30pm and the trophy has been sponsored by the Butchers Arms in Maryport.
The event is free to attend and the game will be followed by live entertainment by Us2.
Stephen added: “No doubt we will be sharing endless fond memories of both ladies in Maryport Rugby League Club. We hope to see everyone there.”
