Workington Reds have signed the former Penrith forward Luke Hunter on loan until the end of the season.
Hunter only left Penrith in November to join National North title challengers FC Fylde but competition for places is very tough.
Three established forwards at the club have scored 71 goals between them and Hunter has not had as much game time because of that.
When he left Penrith he was the top goal-scorer in the Northern League with 21 to his name – a figure that three months later has not been topped.
Reds manager Billy Barr is looking forward to working with the 24-year-old who will go straight into the squad travelling to Gainsborough Trinity tomorrow.
Barr said today that the only absentees through injury would be long-term Dav Symington and shorter term Tom Stephenson.
Gainsborough were surprisingly beaten 1-0 at Leek Town last week but bounced back on Tuesday with a 3-1 win at Bamber Bridge.
Barr had watched the previous game, against Ashton United which they won 3-0 and said they were the best team he had seen in the league.
