Cumberland Infirmary parking fines paused due to faulty payment machines

Ongoing issues with parking machines at Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary have forced health bosses to pause issuing fines for non-payment.

Machines at the site have not been working properly since December and the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust said it was in regular contact with its contractors.

It added the contractor was working hard to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.

The trust said that no fines will be issued for non-payment but if vehicles are parked inappropriately, they will still receive a penalty.

People can pay for their parking at reception, the Your Parking Space website – which has QR codes displayed in the car parks – or via the app with the site code 12082.

People can pay up to 48 hours after leaving the hospital if using the app.

The trust has apologised for any inconvenience or distress the situation has caused.
