
Normal service has been resumed on the West Coast Main Line after damage to overhead electric wires caused disruption over the weekend.
There was a reduced service on the West Coast Main Line yesterday after the incident happened at around 8.15pm on Saturday February 14 on the line between Preston and Penrith.
It resulted in the closure of some lines running towards Carlisle.
Trains running between Preston and Carlisle were reduced and cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or suspended between Oxenholme Lake District and Penrith.
TransPennine Express services were unable to run between Oxenholme Lake District and Carlisle.
Penrith was not be served.
The damage was repaired by midnight yesterday, Sunday February 15.
