Six weeks of roadworks are planned for St Bees.
Cumberland Council said it will start work on Main Street and Egremont Road from Monday, February 23.
Contractors DSD Construction Limited will be working 7.30am to 6pm and the work will include road repairs, drainage repairs and the reinstatement of road markings.
Work will be carried out in four phases, using a mixture of temporary traffic lights and road closures.
The phases are:
- Phase 1: Station to Cross Hill
- Phase 2: Cross Hill to Outrigg
- Phase 3: Outrigg to Townhead Circle
- Phase 4: Townhead Circle to the south
Access for residents will be limited during working hours, but traffic marshals will be on site to assist residents in reaching their properties safely.
Access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times, with cyclists and pedestrians escorted through the site.
Waste and recycling collections will continue as normal.
Updates regarding temporary bus stop relocations will be displayed at affected stops, and passengers with specific route questions should contact Stagecoach directly.
