Longtown’s fire crew has urged people to get their chimneys checked after they were called to an incident on Monday.
The crew was called out at around 10pm on Monday and on arrival at the scene, discovered a well developed chimney fire.
They extinguished the blaze.
Longtown Fire Station said: “With what feels like a long cold winter, remember to get your chimney swept and inspected regularly, especially with heavy use and certain fuels.
“We always see an upsurge in chimney fires both ends of winter.”
