A Workington man has appeared in court accused of trying to intentionally wound another man.
Stephen Ralph Wigham, 47, pleaded not guilty to one charge when he appeared in front of a judge at Carlisle Crown Court this morning.
This charge alleges that Wigham attempted to unlawfully and maliciously wound a man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
The allegation arises out of an incident in Workington on January 22 this year.
As a result of his not guilty plea, Wigham, of Brow Top, Workington, is due to stand trial in front of a jury at the crown court.
This trial is due to start on June 24 and, it is estimated, will last around two days.
In the meantime Wigham remains remanded in custody.
