Armed police were called out after reports of a break-in in Carlisle.
Officers were deployed as a precaution during the incident yesterday, Friday February 27.
Police received a report at around 7.20pm from residents at an address at Newfield Drive, stating a man, who they did not know, had entered their home.
The man caused damage in the house.
Cumbria police said a man, aged 50, had been arrested in connection with the incident.
None of the residents of the house were harmed.
Police said people may have seen a significant police presence in the area as a result.
