
Two pedestrians have suffered serious injuries after an incident involving a Jeep in Barrow.
Police said three men have been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened in Buccleuch Court shortly after 11.05pm yesterday, February 27.
Officers said it was understood a collision took place involving a white Jeep.
The pedestrians – one in his 40s and the other in his 50s – suffered serious injuries.
One was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow; the other was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
Both were reported to be in a stable condition today.
A vehicle suspected of being involved was seized by police on Abbey Road.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to anything suspicious in the area of Buccleuch Street and Rawlinson Street at about 11pm or just before or afterwards to come forward.
They are particularly keen to trace the movements of a white Jeep or similar-style vehicle, potentially with a 23 number plate, in this area at about this time or after.
Anyone who saw anything or who may have relevant dashcam or doorbell footage is asked to make contact. Anyone with information can contact police on 101, referring to incident 279 of February 27.
Cumbria police added residents may have seen and continue to see an increased police presence as enquiries are carried out.
