Ahead of their latest Championship game at Keighley on Sunday Workington Town have announced additions on and off the field.
Former director Barry Earl is returning to the Town board while North East based winger Jake Dickinson has been added to the squad on trial.
Barry’s return was confirmed and approved at Wednesday’s AGM and he now takes up a crucial role as the club formalise the legalities and documentation of the upcoming Cumberland Sports Village project.
Coach Jonty Gorley has been working hard on recruiting players to cover some short to medium term injuries and has brought in 24-year-old Dickinson, an England Students international.
He played National Conference rugby league in 2024 for Thatto Heath and spent last season with Newcastle Thunder while he was studying at Northumbria University. He was named Most Improved Player of the Year in September.
Town had a weekend off while Keighley were putting 56 points on Whitehaven at Lawkholme Lane.
Dominic Wear misses out with an ankle injury, picked up a fortnight ago against Widnes while Jack Stephenson and Jamie Doran are longer term injury absentees.
