
A new self-service launderette has officially opened at Newton Rigg, near Penrith.
The 24-hour laundrette is a milestone said the developers behind the site, Newton Rigg Estate.
They said it will contribute to the wider regeneration and long-term development plans for the estate.
A spokesman for Newton Rigg Estate said: “The opening of the launderette is another practical step in bringing the old campus back into active use.
“It provides a valuable service for the local community while supporting our wider vision for the gradual and sustainable development of the estate.”
Newton Rigg Estate is the site of the former Newton Rigg campus.
The estate is undergoing a phased programme of redevelopment aimed at bringing the site back into productive use.
