People are urged not to be alarmed if they spot a large number of firefighters and fire engines in Kendal tonight.
Crews from the town’s station will be taking part in an exercise between 7pm and 9pm at the Riverside Apartments on Lound Road – the former K Village.
The simulation of a building fire will include smoke.
Kendal Fire Station said: “It enables us to practise our procedures designed to protect you in the event of a real incident.
“Do not be alarmed if you notice an increased number of service vehicles and firefighters in the area during this period, as these will be supporting the exercise.
“Simulated smoke will also be used as part of the scenario.
“During the exercise, access to and from the car park will be disrupted, but still possible if necessary.”
