Eleven inspirational adventure films will be screened on Friday in Broughton-in-Furness to raise funds for the local mountain rescue team.
London Mountain Film Festival @ Broughton is at the town’s Victory Hall and is hosted by Broughton-in-Furness Film Club.
A raffle will be held during the event with prizes donated by Ulverston’s Leisure Lakes Bikes and The Wall, The Climbers Shop in Ambleside, Pete Bland Sports in Kendal as well as Broughton’s The Square Café, The Blacksmiths Arms, The Manor Arms and Community Shop.
Now in its third year, 2026 will see funds raised go to Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team.
Annette Carmichael, film club secretary, said: “Once again we are excited to be screening our own selection of films from the 120 submitted to the London Mountain Film Festival.
“Our audience will no doubt find these stories of courage and determination a great motivation for their own adventures. We’ve sold out each year so I would suggest buying your ticket as soon as possible!”
Members of Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team will be helping run the raffle and bar on the night.
Tickets can be bought for £12 at https://tikt.link/MountainFilms2026 or on the door for £14 cash.
