A co-founder of Cockermouth’s Market Place Print Studio is holding an exhibition inspired by St Kilda.
Jack Fawdry Tatham’s collection, inspired by the remote Scottish islands, are his imagined version of St Kildan life inspired by books and photographs he has studied over the years.
It is at Maryport’s Shipping Brow Gallery until April 4.
The exhibition consists of a mix of egg tempera paintings, etchings, wood cut and collagraph prints.
Egg tempera painting is one of the oldest methods of painting created by mixing dried pigment with egg yolks.
Jack said he was drawn to this method because of its timeless quality and natural ingredients.

He added: “I wanted the artwork to have a timeless feel to it, almost as if it could have been created by an inhabitant of St Kilda 100 years or more ago.”
The exhibition is free and open Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 4pm.
