West Cumbrian speedway star Dan Bewley is looking to make a winning start to the new season when he competes in the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy on Monday (March 16, 7pm).
The World No 3 from Maryport is a Belle Vue rider and has been a regular podium finisher in the prestigious event, but he has to go back to 2021 for the last time he took the top step.
Taking victory on Monday, however, will require getting the better of several World stars in a unique meeting climax, with six riders contesting the Final.
Bewley said: “It’s been a while, and it’s a pretty cool trophy for the Peter Craven with the old shield, so I wouldn’t mind another!
“I’ve never been at the back of the final, but I really don’t want to try it either!
“It’s interesting with six riders, and obviously it’s a pretty historic meeting remembering Peter Craven. It’s a pretty cool meeting to be part of.”
