Egremont Rangers came within minutes of a second Conference Division One win at Shaw Cross Sharks.
Leading 22-18 going into the closing stages, the West Cumbrians conceded a last-gasp try and the conversion won it for the Dewsbury side.
Egremont had made the perfect start with two tries, both converted in the first 10 minutes after they had come out of the traps in fine style.
Tom Houghton got over in the corner and then Jordan Baird went on with both tries converted by Joe Lewis, whose fellow Australian Connor Williams went on to be Egremont’s man of the match.
Gradually, though, the Sharks started to bite and by half time they had scored three converted tries to lead 18-12.
The Rangers responded well, however, in the second half and established a lead again with tries from Brad Long and Houghton, one of them converted by Lewis.
They looked to be closing in on a very good win when the Sharks salvaged the game with that late converted try.
