The Wearside League, like the Northern League, has been hit by a late resignation.
Farringdon Detached from Houghton-le-Spring announced they were pulling out of the league on Monday and a league committee will meet on Thursday to discuss the resignation.
But unlike West Allotment Celtic, who were lying bottom of the Northern League Division One when they called it a day, Farringdon have been going well.
They currently lie fifth in the Premier Division and on Saturday lost 2-1 at South Moor in the semi-final of the Shipowners Cup.
Full details have still to emerge but it has been reported that experienced manager Craig Isherwood, who was only appointed in November, has walked out and his assistant has followed.
Three Northern League clubs from Cumbria have been affected by West Allotment Celtic’s resignation, losing points – Carlisle City (6), Kendal (3) and Penrith (1).
