10p swims return for Easter holidays

Youngsters up to the age of 16 can go for a 10p swim in five pools in north and West Cumbria this Easter.

The scheme has been put in place by Cumberland Council, with the support of Everyone Active, GLL and Wigton Baths Trust.

The council scheme will offer discounted swimming opportunities during the two-week Easter break.

It will be available at the following leisure sites at allocated times during the Easter school holidays:

  • The Sands Centre, Carlisle,: Weekdays (except bank holidays), 10am to 10.50am
  • Cockermouth Leisure Centre: Weekdays, 1pm to 1.50pm.
  • Workington Leisure Centre: Monday March 30, 10am to 10.50am. Tuesday March 31, 1pm to 1.50pm. Wednesday April 1 to Friday April 3, 10am to 10.50am.. Monday April 6 to Friday April 10, 10am to 10.50am.
  • Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre (Whitehaven): Weekdays (except Wednesday April 1 and Wednesday April 8) 1pm to 1.50pm.
  • Wigton Baths: Monday March 30, 3pm to 4pm. Tuesday March 31 and Tuesday April 7, 11.30am to 12.30pm and 3.45pm to 4.45pm. Wednesday April 1 and Wednesday April 8, 3.15pm to 4.15pm. Thursday April 2 and Thursday April 9, 3pm to 4pm. Friday April 10 11am to noon.
