Gary Miller & Greg Todd (Sun Inn B)

In the Aspatria Pool League Sun Inn B played their fellow pub team Sun Inn FC but friendship stopped at the pool table.

Although Jordan Falcon got the FC team off to a great start by winning the first frame, the match then swung round dramatically with Sun Inn B eventually winning 7-2.

After that initial setback they took the next four frames before Johnny Gray won the last for the footballers.

After leading in the singles 4-2 Sun Inn B then convincingly won the by match taking all the doubles as Dave Edwards, Gary Miller and Greg Todd each had two wins.

League leaders Sun Inn A travelled to Wigton to take on the Rugby Club, where Luke Marshall-Dowell gave the home side an early lead.

Wins from Michael Prescott, Andrew Henderson, Luke Kershaw and Ryan Bedford gave the Sun Inn team a 4-2 lead after the singles.

Kershaw and Henderson took the first double to make sure of the win, while both the remaining doubles were shared, for a 6-3 win by Sun Inn A.

The keeps both Sun teams, A and B, level on points at the top of the table.

Miners A entertained Throstle B, in a match that swung both ways. It finished all square after the singles 3-3 while in the doubles Wayne Jackson, with his second win of the night helped Throstle win the first double along with Stephen Graham.

Then it was Ryan Nicholson (also second win) and Andrew Kenny that clinched the match for the Throstle team before Miners A took the last double, but lost out 6-3.

Cumberland A hosted Letters A and Geoff Davies and Dave Eland got the home side off to a perfect start before Liam Day pulled one back for the visitors.

Willie Graham and Kane Lennon then won for the Cumberland before Reece Wilson pulled it back to 4-2 to complete the singles.

Letters A then made the match very close by winning the first two doubles, with Liam Day and Reece Wilson both winning their second game of the night. But an in-form Graham, alongside Reece Carr, took the last frame for the Silloth team to secure a 5-4 win.

Jamie Glencross & Shaun Glencross (Wigton Park BC)

Throstle A played Miners B and the match never really got going for the Prospect side with their Wigton opponents taking a 5-1 lead after the singles. Darren Bowe was the only winner for Miners.

Throstle then completed the win thanks to Ian Johnston and Alex Studholme. Peter Mortimer and Richard Sunderland pulled one back for the Miners but John Mackenzie and David Prescott completed the win taking the last frame for a 7-2 Throstle win.

An improving Wigton Park BC team entertained Cumberland B but Ian Tyrer gave the visitors an early lead.

The Bowling Club team then raced into a 3-1 lead thanks to Caden Corrigan, Stephen Farish and Lewis Baxter, but the Cumberland weren’t finished there.

Adam Hocking and Joe Thompson pulled the game level at 3-3 after the singles, before Tyrer and Hocking clinched the first double for the Cumberland, with their second wins of the night.

However,, the Wigton Park won the last two doubles to clinch the match with thanks to Brady Bell and Caden Corrigan, and then Shaun Glencross and Jamie Glencross.
