One of the most prolific batsmen in West Cumbria last summer has joined Whitehaven in the Cumbria League’s Premier Division.
Adam Brown has switched from Seascale, in the North First Division, where he had a batting average of 106.9, scoring 1,069 runs in 17 innings across all competitions.
It was the most runs scored in the league, included four centuries and four 50s, and unsurprisingly won him Division One player of the year.
His top score was 174 not out.
Adam, now believes it is time to step up, after playing for Seascale since he started with their Under-11s.
His late father Steve, originally from Warrington, played for Seascale too and he was a much respected Cumbria League official and fixtures secretary.
His brother Steve junior has been at Seascale since he was Under-11s.
Announcing the signing, the Whitehaven club said: “A dynamic, left-handed middle-order batsman Adam is known for his aggressive intent and ability to accelerate theb game, adding real firepower to our batting line-up.
“We are exciited to see what he brings to us this coming season.”
