A Lake District walker had to be airlifted after becoming violently ill while on a fell.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out at around 3.10pm last Sunday, March 22, to Lining Crag.
They had been notified by emergency alert from Garmin, sent by a satellite device.
Two men were walking above Lining Crag at the head of Greenup Gill. One of the men had been out hiking and camping in the fells for a few days and had been joined by his friend for the last night when he turned violently ill.
A Coastguard helicopter was requested due to the nature of the call out.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “The team approached up the long and arduous valley of Greenup Gill with the fastest team members arriving shortly after the arrival of Coastguard helicopter from Prestwick.
“The casualty and his companion along with two team members were air lifted to Crow Park in Keswick where they were met by an North West Ambulance Service ambulance that took the casualty to hospital.”
