A Lake District hotel group has won a national award.
Lake District Country Hotels, which runs the Cragwood, Merewood and Briery Wood hotels around Windermere, has been named Accommodation Provider of the Year by UKinbound’s Awards for Excellence.
Judges said they were impressed with strong year-on-year growth and 90% occupancy, significant investment in staff training with the introduction of its growing Lake District Country Hotels Training Academy and also expanding reach into long-haul markets.
Joe Cobb, hotel group executive manager, said: “I am exceptionally proud of our team. We have achieved plenty in terms of our team, our academy and growth into new markets during a really challenging period for the industry. This is award is testament to the brilliant team that we have.”
Mountain Goat, based in Windermere, was shortlisted for the Sightseeing Operator of the Year category.
