
A major search was launched after reports of a paraglider being in distress near a Cumbrian river.
Cumbria police said officers had received reports that a paraglider was potentially in distress near the River Eden in the Kirkoswald area, near Penrith yesterday, Thursday April 2 at around 9.35am.
Cumbria police said searches were currently being carried out and the public may have seen a larger-than-normal presence of emergency service personnel in this area as a result.
At around 4.15pm, Cumbria police said the paraglider had been spoken to and was safe and well.
