A second successive draw for Carlisle United, this time at Morecambe, came from a conceded own goal from Harvey Macadam.
It came eight minutes from the end when it seemed as though the Blues were going to resume winning ways.
Twelve months ago these two sides came down to the National League from League Two and next season they could be two levels apart.
For as Carlisle seem certain to finish third in the table, securely through to the play-offs, Morecambe look destined for another relegation as they needed more than a point from this.
With just three games left they are eight points from safety as the current bottom four look nailed on for the drop.
The Shrimps had actually led at half-time after Gwion Edwards had scored after 32 minutes but they weren’t in front long after the resumption.
Regan Linney, who has rediscovered his early season finishing prowess levelled with a well-placed low shot.
David Ajiboye was close to putting Carlisle ahead and midway through the second-half he did find the second goal for the Blues. He finished well, going round keeper Myles Boney before slotting home.
It looked as though Carlisle were going to home with maximum points until the unfortunate own goal from Macadam on 82 minutes earned Morecambe the draw – but it looks like too little too late for the Shrimps.
